THE SATORU ITAZU WORKSHOP
SATURDAY 14 OCTOBER - SUNDAY 19 NOVEMBER 2006

EXHIBITION / WORKSHOPS / RESIDENCY

To coincide with the Year of Exchange between Australia and Japan, and as a prelude to the Asia-Pacific Triennial at Queensland Art Gallery, DELL Gallery @ QCA hosted an exhibition of works created at Itazu Litho-Grafik, the workshop of Master Printmaker Satoru Itazu. Since the establishment of the Tokyo workshop in 1987, Itazu has collaborated with Japanese and Australian contemporary artists in this exciting and demanding field of printmaking. The exhibition was present the first opportunity for some of these works to be seen in Australia. DELL Gallery @ QCA hosted a program of gallery tours, lithographic printmaking workshops, and residency during the exhibition. Satoru Itazu also conducted a masterclass during October 2006.

Developed by Griffith Artworks and QCA Printmaking in collaboration with Itazu Litho-Grafik.
Sponsored by The Japan Foundation.
Satoru Itazu's residency and workshops supported by QCA Griffith University.
