Welcome VHHS Students and Parents

The purpose of this website it to enhance the communication triangle between the parent, student and teacher. As the availability of technology increases both here at school and in the home, the Science Departmental information available online will increase.

Grades will be posted weekly (Fridays). To login and check the grades you must type your login name in a specific way. For example, if your name was John Smith, you would type your login name as John_S Next you would need to type in your password. Both the login name and password are case sensetive. This means that you must use UPPERCASE or capital letters in the proper position.

Here is a link to the DNA Workshop Activity which we went over in class. By reviewing it again it should help you in understanding the concepts of DNA replication, transcription and translation.

The GradeBook
I will start Grades, Attendence and Tardies online so that both students and the their parents can see how they are progressing in the class. If you are interested in having your grades avialable online contact me either by calling, email or leave a message on the BBS and let me know so that I can give you a password to enter the grading program. Students will only be able to see their grades and Parents will only be able to see their particular student's grades.

The Calendar
There is a link at the top of the page which shows the homework/classwork that is being completed for the day. If students are absent they can see what they missed without having to chase me down. Most of the actual handouts are avialable online also which can be downloaded or printed out. So those who are sick can actually do almost everything BUT the lab and take the test from home! Technology is great eh?

Science Links
contains the links you will be required to search out during the first ten minutes of class followed by a short report. You may choose from either the section entitled "Science News" or "Science Magazines" if you know of any other interesting web sites that should be added the list let me know. |Report format|
